Is this what 2010 will look like for Justice League Unlimited? As the days go on and we see more and more new figures popping up on eBay, the list that was leaked a few months ago seems to be hold true. As of now, Aquaman, Livewire, Weather Wizard, Nightwing, Penguin and Batgirl have all surfaced from Hong Kong sellers. Then we see the same sellers offering harder to find figures like Barda and Star Sapphire that make you think that the singles that are on the list are also on the way. So, seeing that the list is shaping up to be a guide rather that a rumor, here are some thoughts on it.
JLU BATMAN,DEVIL RAY,SUPERMAN - Hopefully this is one of the international 3 packs. Batman and Superman in the same three pack is overkill. Not to mention, Devil Ray is still on the shelves as we read this.
JLU BATMAN,FLASH,CAPTAIN COLD - Mattel takes out Captain Boomerang and puts a Batman in and call it a new 3 pack? Hopefully this will be shipped over seas too.
JLU BATMAN,GREEN LANTERN,MANHUNTER - I really hope this is the Kate Spencer version of Manhunter (or even the Paul Kirk version) but since there’s a GL in the pack I'm betting Manhunter robot. This would be great but since there is a Green Lantern / Manhunter 3 pack listed below I say ship to out. Again, another case of just throwing a Batman in and it's supposedly a new 3 pack.
JLU BATMAN,JOKER,GRAY GHOST - It's been a while since we had a Joker so this is cool, but a Grey Ghost figure? Wow, nice touch. Oh yeah, another Batman figure but with this pack it's a smart choice.
JLU BATMAN,SUPERMAN,PLASTIC MAN - Like the Batman/Superman/Devil Ray pack above, hopefully this will get shipped internationally. By this time Plas will have been released with the Cyborg/Plas/Mr. Miracle 3 pack and there is a planned Plastic Man single later on the list so there's no reason to have this pack here.
JLU DESPERO,GRN LANTERN,KATMAI TUI - Despero? NICE! Green Lantern, alright. Katma Tui? Hopefully she'll be repainted in her "Slave Leia" costume from Hearts And Minds. Better yet, give her the GL uniform she wore in "the Return". Either way, lets hope she has her Korugarian skin tone.
JLU GA FLASH,GA GRN LANTERN,GA HAWKMAN - Jay Garrick and Alan Scott is a home run. I don't know how a Golden Age Hawkman would be different from the first Hawkman release, but who cares? Jay and Alan are well worth it.
JLU MANHUNTER,GRN LANTERN,MAHUNTER CHARGED - Manhunters are long over due. They were rumored when the JL name became the JLU brand but they never happened. Now it looks like we're getting them. I hope that they were sculpted back then and are just being used now because if not, we'll probably be getting a new head on a heavy body type and it will be about 2" too short. Manhunter charged is intrereseting though. I'm assuming it will be the green and black version of Manhunter that's at the end of "In Blackest Night"
JLU NIGHTWING,BATGIRL,PENGUIN - These are just starting to show up on eBay. All of them are repaints of the BTNA figures. Nightwing is a straight up repaint of the "dramatic pose" Nightwing. If they used the Crime Solver Nightwing, he would fit better in the line. Batgirl looks just like the figure that came with the video game Batman - Rise of Sin Zsu. Penguin looks the same as the singe from the BTNA line.
JLU SUPERMAN,ADAM STRANGE,FLASH - Another pack I hope we don't see here in the states. We already have Adam Strange in the above pack. We don't need him with another Superman and Flash.
JLU SUPERMAN,AQUAMAN,ECLIPSO - Aquaman would be nice if it's the new Classic Aquaman we've seen on eBay. Throw that in with Eclipso so we don't have to buy a $30 6 pack for one new figure and you've got a deal.
JLU SUPERMAN,LIVEWIRE,WEATHER WIZARD - The STAS pack. We've seen these on eBay and they look great.
JLU WARLORD,DEMOS,SUPERGIRL - I had no clue whose these characters were. For those of you who are stumped, Warlord is the Viking warrior and Demos is evil wizard (that looks like Deadman) in the episode Chaos at the Earths Core. We'll probably see a reissue of the new blue Supergirl in this pack since this episode is the first appearance of her wearing it.
SINGLES
JLU AQUAMAN WITH TRIDENT - If it's the new classic Aquaman with a trident - sounds great.
JLU ATOM W/MINI ATOM - I hope Mattel takes this opportunity to make this a Ryan Choi repaint. They did it with the TRU diecast packs so why not the JLU single?
JLU BATMAN BEYOND W/FUTURE BATARANG - I hope Mattel makes this on the slim body type. The square body that they used previously was too big. However it did look like Batman Beyond in the episode "Epilogue". If not, I'm sure a lot of people will still be happy since he was so hard to find the first time around. The future Batarang is a nice touch too.
JLU BATMAN W/BATARANGE - Get rid of this one and give us the Owlman figure we were told was on the way.
JLU BATMAN W/BATMITE - This is an EXCELLENT way of re-releasing figure. I'll actually be buying my 60th Batman figure for the Batmite accessory.
JLU BIG BARDA W/MEGA ROD - This is huge. Barda (along with Deadshot) still remain the hardest to find figures that were released at retail. Hopefully, this will be able to be found. Also, another good excuse to buy this is for the accessory.
JLU BLACKHAWK W/SPEAR OF DESTINY - Even though he was just released, he comes with a great accessory and if you waited to get this one, you won't have another extra Superman and Wonder Woman laying around.
JLU BRANIAC CLASSIC W/ SHRINKING GUN - I think someone at Mattel R&D has been visiting Custom Justice. I guarantee that this is a complete rip off of Stew's "hot pants" Brainiac from the CJ Custom Extravaganza.
JLU CYBORG SUPERMAN W/YELLOW LANTERN - This is great. A Sinestro Corps Cyborg Superman can always leave open the door for a regular repaint in Superman costume. After this a Romat Ru figure would be an easy way to build the Sinestro Corps army with a repainted Tomar Re.
JLU FLASH 2 W/LIGHTNING BOLT - Let's hope that this is a Jonny Quick figure to help fill our Crime Syndicate ranks. Keep your fingers crossed.
JLU GREEN ARROW W/BOW AND ARROW - Come on Mattel! Make this a hooded Green Arrow just to change thing up a little bit.
JLU HAWKGIRL W/MACE - Kendra Saunders repaint?
JLU MARTIAN MANHUNTER W/GOGGLES - I'll only get this if they are swimming goggles and he comes in a bathing suit with palm trees on it.
JLU PLASTIC MAN W/MAILBOX - Mailbox? I guess it fits in with the characters personality. Either way, I think this is a good idea.
JLU SIGNAL MAN W/MONEY BAG - It's a new character and means it a good choice. However, Signal Man over Deathstroke? Come on!
JLU STAR SAPPHIRE W/MONEY BAG - This figure was hard to find the first time around so I'm assuming that this single will make many people happy. A comic accurate Carol Ferris repaint wouldn't be a bad idea either but I don't think that's in the cards.
JLU SUPERMAN JLU W/STARRO - Like the Batman w/ Batmite, another reissue that will absolutely sell because of it's accessory.
JLU SUPERMAN W/KANDOR - See above.

Not a bad turnout considering we have 18 new figures listed. I see quite a few figures and accessories that have been on many peoples want list for quite some time. Matty keeps saying that they are saving other highly requested figures for future waves but after 2010 who knows what shape the line will be in. Unless JLU is signed on until 2011 and they know they have one more year to get us figures like Blue Beetle, Guy Gardner, Kalibak and Mongul. Only time (and a sharp eye on eBay for exclusive news) will tell.
